The Atonement Academy is recruiting teachers for the 2008-2009 academic year.
The Atonement Academy is the parish school of Our Lady of the Atonement Parish, a personal parish of the Pastoral Provision in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Our school was founded in 1994 and added a high school program in 2004. We received national Blue Ribbon recognition the following year. Our school is located at the far northwest fringe of San Antonio. We are in an area of rapid development, and we are growing.
We seek qualified teachers who are faithful Catholics and who share our vision for college preparatory education in the classical and Catholic traditions, enriched by a daily sacramental life and a strong choral music program. Teachers swear an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church. Employment is by annual Teacher Ministry Agreement in the form prescribed by the Archdiocesan Department of Catholic Schools.
Our classrooms are self-contained in Grades PK4 through 5, while Grades 6 through 12 are served by a middle and upper school faculty of subject matter specialists.
Please submit expressions of interest to rjohnston@atonementonline.com. Include "teacher employment" in the subject line.
As this is written in March, we have received expressions of intent for the coming year from most of our returning teachers, and shortly will offer contracts to them. As vacancies are known, they will be posted here.
As of March, 2008, known and likely requirements for 2008-2009 include:
Elementary generalists, grades 1 through 3.
Boys' athletics instructor or athletic director (rank depending on experience), grades Pre-K 4 through 12.
